The Unit provides professional emergency cardiac care: treatment of patients with acute coronary artery disease: myocardial infarction and unstable angina. Specialists of the Unit are always ready to provide qualified assistance during exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases.

Bad capacity of the Unit is 40 beds. There is round-the-clock biochemical laboratory at the disposal of doctors, where parameters necessary for correct diagnosis, condition monitoring and ongoing therapy are quickly and accurately determined using up to date equipment and methods. Experienced specialists (cardiologists, Doctors and Candidates of Medical Sciences) will conduct comprehensive cardiac evaluation, and prescribe individual drug therapy that is recommended after discharge from the hospital or alternative types of treatment - coronary bypass surgery and coronary angioplasty, which can be performed within the optimum terms here on the basis of the Center for Cardiology.

Clinical base of the department of medical diseases No.2 with courses of allied disciplines of the Asfendiyarov KazNMU is at the Unit either.

Up-to-date medical technologies are applied for treatment diagnosing:

• Holter ECG monitoring

• Electrophysiological examination, RFA

Method with determination of the following is used for early diagnosing of myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure and pulmonary embolism:

• troponin I
• natriuretic peptides
• D-dimer
